5. Show Recommendation: A Secret Place, atyp
atyp is excited to present A Secret Place, the premiere production of atyp’s Young Artists’ Program. Written and performed by the young and gutsy ensemble and directed by Zeal Theatre’s Tom Lycos, Brigid Kitchin & Stefo Nantsou, A Secret Place is a revealing production which intercuts numerous true stories to create a vivid, disturbing and complex study of love and addiction in contemporary Australia.
A Secret Place takes a very personal look into modern drug culture….… the booze, the pills, the dope, the whatever we use to get to our own ‘secret place’.
Combining Zeal’s trademark style of raw stripped-back theatricality, live music and an entertaining mix of comedy and drama, A Secret Place takes the audience on a swirling ten year journey, from mid teens to mid 20s, revealing lives and situations in a bold and confronting theatrical experience.
Featuring SUDS members Max Rapley and Emily Morrison!

“Investment should be given to some individuals who have the confidence of the Board to enter into work of an experimental nature. There can be no guarantee of a result in this area. If it is a true experiment it must enter an area completely unknown.”
